What We Believe – First Baptist Church of Maize

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, and the only certain, inerrant, infallible rule of faith and obedience (2 Tim. 3:16; Eph. 2:20).

We affirm the sovereignty of God in salvation, and thus we hold to the Southern Baptist Convention’s oldest statement of faith, “The Abstract of Principles.”

As a Southern Baptist church, we also hold to “The Baptist Faith and Message.”

We believe these statements of faith to be accurate summaries of key biblical teaching, and hold to them as such.
