Scribes & Scripture Conference

OCTOBER 31st, 2026 | 9:00AM—2:30PM | FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF MAIZE
How did we get the Bible? Why does it have these exact 66 books and not others? Why are there so many different translations? How do we make sense of both the human side and the divine side of Scripture?
Join us this Reformation Day on Saturday, October 31st, to learn how a set of books written in different languages by dozens of authors across thousands of years was copied, canonized, and translated to become the Bible we know today.
Based on their book, Scribes and Scriptures, Drs. John Meade and Peter Gurry bring a unique combination of knowledge that covers how the Bible was copied, canonized, and translated. They are eager to help audiences understand the amazing history of the Bible.
